It’s been a busy start to the season in the M+J section-Many thanks for your help and support!
As we approach our first fixtures please remember to complete your player registration – including payment- this provides the player with a unique “RFU number” allowing players to take part in matches and tournaments throughout the season as a member of the Union and the benefits that brings.
-So what’s been going on..
The u10s took part in a Festival at Millfield with schools from across the county and had a very successful day.
This weekend we had our first Joint training fixture with Burnham which was a great success –the U9s having their first taste of contact, the u12s had a very competitive game which will set them up well, The u11s got back to playing ways,the U10s as ever did well with their very strong squad, along with our u8S and u7s taking evasion to a new level!
–The u13s didn’t have a fixture and with their regular coaches at Bath Academy on a RFU training course some of the Senior squad stepped up to train them…wow what a brilliant active session ! Bet that squad slept well Sunday night!
We also hosted the first Girls U13s development festival – 100 u13s girls 6 teams – one them our very own Mendip Girls squad made up of Tor, Wells, Cary and Cheddar girls – the quality of rugby played was outstanding!
It was a very busy day at the club with volunteers spending from 9.00am till 17.00 at the club! Thank you all very much it was very busy club house!
This coming SATURDAY 30TH SEPT see the U9s travel up the road to Millfield for a U9s festival with other schools- K.O 10am finishes 12.00pm – please check your Teamer invites for details –if unsure please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for full details
SUNDAY 1st OCT – training at Tor for all squads – APART FROM U13S we have managed to secure their first fixture of the season with HORNETS ..U13S please check your teamer invites -again if unsure please contact email@example.com ASAP
U11S (Yr6) – numbers have been a bit low but we are working on this -e-mails, letters and flyers promoting the group have been sent to local schools – we will be attending assemblies to promote and encourage yr6s to “give it a try” –free hot dogs! Please spread the word to other parents, players, and friends- come along to our YEAR 6 RUGBY SKILLS DAY on the 15th Oct
