Tor begin 2016/17 season with a new coaching set up.
Jerry Davies has stepped down from his role as head coach after stepping up from position of forwards coach to head coach in the 2015/16 season. Tor finished said season in 8th position, after impressive early victories over Chew Valley and Taunton and a cup run that took them to the final, injuries began to take their toll with a long run of away fixtures only hindering things. Avoidance of relegation and a strong finish to the season has ensured Tor are set up to tackle Somerset Premier head on for the 2016/17 season.
Jerry Stays on and reverts to his original role of assistant coach. Matt Hastie (centre) & Gav Hancock (far right) come in as Forwards and Backs coach respectively. Looking to add consistency and structure to Tors game they will look to build on a strong player base that currently exists at the club. Integrating playing roles into their coaching duties they look to bring National League level experience to the Somerset Premiership club.
James Austwick (club capt, left) who has previously worked with Matt and Gav at a previous club will renew this relationship and now work to create a strong working relationship between the new coaching set up and the team.
Tor are currently training Tuesday & Thursday nights 7pm – 8:30pm and kick off their season 03/09/2016. Prior to this you can see the pre season fixtures here – 1st XV Fixtures & Results
